At IMS, our commitment to sustainability and environmental responsibility continues to drive our initiatives. We are excited to announce a new program aimed at reducing our environmental footprint and enhancing our crew members’ experience on delivery voyages.
Starting this quarter, IMS will provide each of our crew members with a high-quality, insulated water bottle from Fridgy, a proud Western Australian-owned and operated company. This innovative change is more than just a convenience—it’s a substantial step towards reducing plastic waste and promoting sustainable practices within our operations.
Why This Matters
Traditionally, our vessels have relied on numerous plastic water bottles to keep our crew hydrated. This not only generates significant plastic waste but also contributes to the environmental challenges associated with single-use plastics. By transitioning to insulated water bottles, we are eliminating the need for these disposable plastics and making a positive impact on the environment.
Instead of supplying dozens of plastic water bottles for each voyage, we will now use 10L water casks. These casks are more sustainable and can be easily refilled using the new Fridgy bottles, ensuring our crew stays hydrated while minimising waste.
About Fridgy
Fridgy is a Western Australian company known for its commitment to quality and sustainability. Their insulated water bottles are designed to keep beverages at the ideal temperature for extended periods, making them perfect for the varied conditions encountered during our delivery voyages. By choosing Fridgy, we are supporting a local business while also ensuring that our crew members have access to top-tier hydration solutions.
Looking Ahead
This initiative is just one of the many steps IMS is taking to enhance our sustainability practices. We believe that every small change contributes to a larger impact, and we are proud to lead the way in adopting environmentally friendly solutions within our industry.
We look forward to seeing the positive effects of this new program and continuing our efforts to promote a greener, more sustainable future.
