Another stellar year for IMS | 2019

IMS 2019 Vessel Delivery and Management

Perth-based vessel delivery and management company International Maritime Service (IMS) has celebrated the end of another year by having four Offshore Crew Boats at sea on Single Delivery Voyages from Singapore to Nigeria. While some of our crew and shore-based Operations Team may have to postpone their Christmas celebrations, IMS will close 2019 as it opened by always delivering service to our customers.

Tug delivery voyages managed by IMS this year included six newbuild ART 85-32W Rotor Tugs from Damen’s Song Cam Shipyard in Vietnam to Port Hedland, the world’s largest bulk port. Commenting on this regionally important project for Pilbara Marine Pty Ltd (Pilbara Marine), a wholly owned subsidiary of Fortescue Metals Group Ltd, IMS’ Managing Director Brendan Cooley said “Providing safe tug deliveries is a mainstay of our success and this project underscored our commitment to provide a safe, quality service that always delivers value to our clients. We are pleased that Fortescue preferred our local content strategy for these transports, safeguarding jobs for our Australian based team who worked hard to deliver the tugs concurrently, and below budget.” IMS undertook various other rapid tug relocations in 2019, both domestically and internationally to meet towage companies’ operational needs.

Crew Boat voyages from Singapore to Nigeria figured prominently in the IMS 2019 order book and the company also manned and managed the delivery voyages of PSVs, bulk and product tankers, landing craft and RoRo passenger vehicle ferries.

IMS’ core ship delivery business continues to be augmented with crew familiarisation training and manning Newbuild vessels for sea trials for Australia’s premier shipbuilding company Austal, another Perth-based success story. And late in the year IMS were again tapped on the shoulder to continue manning and supporting a RoRo passenger Ferry in Trinidad and Tobago for another year.

To close the year in style, in December the IMS team relocated to a modern office in Perth’s historic port city, Fremantle. The waterfront location of IMS new headquarters is augmented by the close proximity of several key vessel owners and operators.
