IMS successfully delivered to Trinidad and Tobago and currently manages Galleons Passage, a 73 metre ROPAX catamaran ferry which can carry 670 passengers and 94 cars.
Galleons Passage is an integral part of the Seabridge between Trinidad & Tobago.
The ferry’s first sailing after her 11,000 mile delivery voyage from China was on 8 October 2018 from Port of Spain, Trinidad to Scarborough, Tobago and under IMS management Galleons Passage has completed over 300 sailings Not Out! and has now steamed more than 49,000 nautical miles – more than twice around the world. IMS are very proud of our service and offer a special thanks to our Crew, shore-side Technical Managers and the vessel’s owners, NIDCO.
Even though the COVID-19 crisis Galleons Passage has maintained reliability at 100% and there have been no onboard Lost Time Injuries or environmental incidents, reflecting the professionalism of the experienced IMS and local NIDCO crew and shore-side staff.
Galleons passage is named for the 19 nautical mile wide sea channel between Tobago and Trinidad.
